Ну и что же можно сказать о музыке? Мы видим типичное количество треков, а именно - 42, но это не говорит о том, что за каждыми 50-ю секундами этого музыкального полотна скрывается сущий ад. Напротив, примерно каждая четвертая композиция представляет собой именно джаз, в его лучших традициях, но с вкраплениями истинной гринды. Как известно, лидер банды - саксофонист, хотя о нем немного позже. Представляют собой эти треки несложный, на первый взгляд, но замороченный прогрессив-джаз, с (порой) смешными гитарными мелодиями и хлипкими барабанами и без вокала, иногда прерываемые мгновениями полной вакханалии с криками и изрядным сверхскоростным молотиловом.

Universal's double-disc Icon doubles the size of their single-disc set of the same name and covers the same ground only in greater detail, adding a few more live tracks and studio staples to draw a greater picture of his ABC and MCA recordings of the late ‘60s, ‘70s, and beyond. It’s a bit shorter than 2006’s Gold and not quite as rounded, yet it’s still a very good sampler of B.B. King at his latter-day best.

When the Buena Vista Social Club album was released to great acclaim in 1997, it revived the careers of quite a few incredibly talented aging Cuban musicians. Like Ibrahim Ferrer, most of those musicians (who had been legendary in the '40s through the '70s) hadn't been performing professionally in decades. With the success of the Buena Vista Social Club, everything changed; they toured the globe, and plans for follow-up albums followed. Ibrahim Ferrer's was the second of what became a line of Buena Vista releases, all hoping to cash in on the success of the first. Ferrer's album is pleasant, the kind of album you could put on during brunch on a sunny morning. The album features many classic Cuban compositions. Original arrangers, musicians, and bandleaders were involved whenever possible. One standout is "Mami Me Gusto," a rolling upbeat tune by the legendary Cuban composer/bandleader Arsenio Rodriguez. On that tune Ferrer is lively and loose, and he is joined by Rodriguez's original pianist, the masterful Ruben Gonzales. The rest of the album is nice, but rarely as inspired or joyous as the original Buena Vista release. This is a much more romantic sounding album and on the right tunes, like "Aquellos Ojos Verdes," they really hit the mark; Ferrer shines and Gonzales sends glistening piano lines cascading down the keys. At age 63-plus, Ferrer was long overdue for a debut album, and as a result the disc communicates a feel of easy satisfaction. If you're looking for classy cocktail party music that will hold the attention of music fans, and won't bother the uninterested, look no further.

Что же касается музыки "Naked City", то на альбоме "Grand Guignol" она стала более трудно усваиваемой. Виртуально работа подразделялась на три части: первой являлся заглавный 18-минутный трек, напоминающий звуковую дорожку фильма жанра саспенс, далее шли транскрипции композиторов-классиков (Дебюсси, Скрябин, Лассо, Айвз, Мессиан), а в конце были собраны короткие вещи преимущественно джаз-грайндового характера.

Antoine Dominique "Fats" Domino Jr. (February 26, 1928 Ц October 24, 2017) was an American pianist and singer-songwriter of Louisiana Creole descent. One of the pioneers of rock and roll music, Domino sold more than 65 million records. Between 1955 and 1960, he had eleven Top 10 hits. His humility and shyness may be one reason his contribution to the genre has been overlooked.
During his career, Domino had 35 records in the U.S. Billboard Top 40, and five of his pre-1955 records sold more than a million copies, being certified gold. His musical style was based on traditional rhythm and blues, accompanied by saxophones, bass, piano, electric guitar, and drums.

'Guitar Only', produced by Salinas together with Daniel González, was recorded at ION studios under the technical supervision of Jorge Da Silva, 'El Portugués'. "The emphasis on the album was the simplicity of the recording process Playing the guitar with a microphone in front, not much production and songs that mean a lot to me, " says Salinas. The guitarist says " this is the album I've wanted to make. The variety of songs and styles show that I don't want to limit myself to some trend and, as music has no borders, I don't use a passport. I play what like to play and I hope people enjoy it as much as I do." Salinas is a great technical guitarist with an almost superhuman dominance of the "diapason". His "fraseos" are rich in their timbre nuances, he connects major scales with minor ones which keeps your attention on the guitar.

Most of Bob Marley's early music was recorded with Peter Tosh and Bunny Wailer, who together with Marley were the most prominent members of the Wailers. In 1972, the Wailers had their first hit outside Jamaica when Johnny Nash covered their song "Stir It Up", which became a UK hit. The 1973 album Catch a Fire was released worldwide, and sold well. It was followed by Burnin', which included the song "I Shot the Sheriff". Eric Clapton's cover of the song became a hit in 1974.
